Maria Francesca Pepe: Crosses & Roses

The new Marica Francesca Pepe- collection is to die for.

The flowery-spring atmosphere with the heavy eyeliner and the thick lower lashes give a 60's-flower-child vibe. With a subtle gothic touch thanks to the black crosses and body chains it gives the collection the certain extra that makes my heart beat faster.

The new hair - Trends for 2012

Whilst the majority of viewers have given their attention to the clothes on the catwalks of London Fashion Week, I have been keeping an eye on the upcoming hairstyles for 2012.

In a season defined by minimalism and natural beauty, hairstylists chose easy elegance as a theme for spring-hair.

Whether with the sleek, slicked back style, polished ponytails or the no-fuss centre-parted style, the minimalistic natural look is certainly a winner for spring/summer 2012.

No-fuss centre parting
The easy and practical but pretty hairstyle has been been the choice for many designers this season. Easy but beautiful. Sounds good to me.

Braids, Knots and Plaits

Braids, braids and more braids. They were all over the catwalk this season and many designer's favourite. Whether milkmaid style, fishtails or sleek plaits at the crown, I love them all and can not wait to try them.

The Festival look
Whether adorned with flowers or slightly waved with a simple centre-parting, the festival hair is the perfect finish for the natural beauty-look.

Slicked back
Modern, minimalistic and undeniable cool.
Those must be the reasons, why Giambattista Valli and Roland Mouret were not the only ones going for this look this season.

The neat ponytail

Not quite as high as last season, but still super-straight. The ponytail turned out not to be just a one-season wonder and isn't going anywhere just yet
.

The wet-look

It seemed like the models of Alexander Wang had been caught out by an unexpected shower just before stepping on the catwalk. The wet-look (whether sleeked back or loose and wavy) is a must-have (or at least a must-try) this season.

The Retro look
With all the vintage-fashion trends coming back, it is no surprise, that retro-hair is back in fashion too. This beautiful sleek Sixties-esque style has been seen on the models of the Jil Sander-show.

Jum Nakao's Paper Couture

It's late, we've all had a long day and the last thing you want is a long heavy lecture.

Just enjoy the beautiful photographs of the timeless Paper-fashion collection of Jum Nakao.

A costura do invisivel”, which approximately could be transpated as “sewing the invisible” is a project, Jum Nakao created in 2009  for the Paper-Fashion exhibiton at Moma. With incredible love for details, he created those amazing paper dresses which were torn down by the models during a presentation on a runway.

Introducing "P.S. - I made this . . . "

Today I'd like to introduce one of my favourite online discoveries:

The idea of "P.S. - I made this..." is simple. : "It's a call to action to
re-imagine, reuse & reinvent."

You see it.
You like it.
You make it.

With London Fashion Week coming along, I am prepared and excited to pick up many new gorgeous trends for the coming year. The only problem... the empty, empty bank account of mine.

And that's exactly where this brilliant website always saves my day.

About once a week Erica Domesk (founder, creator and author of “P.S. - I made this...”) introduces a new trend, which has been seen on catwalks, magazines and on the streets.

She then presents a simple but genius way to re-create this look yourself.

The instructions are easy, the outcome is beautiful and there's definitely something for everybody on her website.

There's not much more to say, apart from..see it, like it, make it.

Vintage Americana - Trend S/S 2012

"There’s hardly a decade that’s not being pawed and pulled at and picked apart for it’s sartorial gems."

It's fact, that most of the decades of the 20th century have celebrated their revival over the last few years. We saw the glamorous '70s, the swinging '60s, the roaring '20s and the elegant '40s.

Now we can add the '50s to the list and the vintage inspirations are near complete.

Prada has definitely set a hot trend for summer 2012 with their flame-back shoes and cartoon car bags.

Prada Spring/Summer 2012

Not only Prada has taken their inspiration for this season's collection from the '50s, we have seen many other designers on this year's Paris Fashion Week having the same idea.

Cat's-eye sunglasses in multiple shades and colours provide the perfect finishing touch - look to Bottega Veneta, Rochas and Nina Ricci.
